Claims, checked in public
This is where the actual checks will live — specific investment claims, run against the real evidence, with every step shown so you can disagree with us. We're building the first ones now.
Status: first checks in progress. No published reviews yet — and we'd rather show you
nothing than pad this page with filler. Want to be first when they land?

What a "check" is
Not a hot take, and not a vibe. Every review follows the same three steps — the same ones on our why-we-exist page:
- Catch the claim. We write it down exactly as it was made — "this strategy returns 1% a day," "gold protects you from inflation," "this fund delivers consistent monthly income" — with no convenient rewording.
- Ask what would prove it. A real, auditable track record. Fees and slippage included. Out-of-sample. Risk-adjusted. All the results, not the highlight reel.
- Grade it in public. We publish what the evidence shows, whichever way it points — and when a claim actually holds up, we'll say so first.
What's on the shortlist
The claims we keep bumping into, and expect to check early:
- "Consistent monthly income" funds — where does the yield actually come from?
- Gold as an inflation hedge — the record is shakier than the slogan.
- Dividend-focused "safe income" strategies — total return vs. the story.
- Track-record and backtest claims — and how easily a great backtest is faked by accident.
- "Beat the market" newsletters — graded the way the gurus were.

The more specific and the more it's being sold as certain, the better.
