Straight answers
The questions worth asking a site that checks other people's claims — answered plainly, including the uncomfortable ones.
Is this financial advice?
No. ProofOfReturns is educational: we check claims and explain evidence in general terms. We don't know your situation, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. For advice built around you, a fee-only fiduciary adviser is the right kind of help.
How do you make money?
Right now, we don't. No sponsors, no affiliate links, no paid placements, no "partner" picks, and nothing behind a paywall. If that ever changes it'll be obvious — and it'll never be someone paying to influence what we say. The whole point is that nobody's buying our conclusions.
Why are you anonymous?
Because you shouldn't have to trust us — you should be able to check the evidence yourself. A name, a headshot and an impressive bio are exactly the kind of authority-by-personality that gets people to skip the numbers. We'd rather be judged on whether the work holds up. There's more on that on the About page.
Are you even qualified to do this?
We show sources, not credentials. Every check states what would prove a claim and links the evidence, so you can follow the reasoning and disagree where you like. A conclusion is right or wrong regardless of who wrote it — that's the entire idea.
Do you sell tips, signals, or a course?
No — and we won't. No trading signals, no price targets, no "buy this now," no stock-picking service, no course, no paid community. If someone's selling you certainty about markets, that's usually the tell.
Can I suggest a claim to check?
Yes, please. Email info@proofofreturns.com. The more specific the claim, and the more it's being sold as a sure thing, the better it fits what we do.
How often will you email me?
Rarely, and only when there's something worth reading — a new check or explainer. We'd rather send one good thing than fill your inbox. Unsubscribe anytime, no hard feelings.
Is it free?
Yes. Everything on the site is free to read, and the newsletter is free. See "How do you make money?" above for why that's not a trap.
What if you get something wrong?
We fix it, in public. We show our work precisely so mistakes are catchable — including by us. If the evidence changes or we blew a call, we'd rather say so out loud than quietly edit and pretend.
