Who's behind this, and why

ProofOfReturns is a small, independent project with one job: to hold investment claims to the evidence, in public — and to explain the boring fundamentals the hype machine would rather you skipped.

Why this exists

Because the internet has a returns problem. Nine out of ten professionals don't beat a simple index fund over 15 years, yet your feed overflows with strangers who supposedly cracked it — usually right before they sell you the course. Somebody should hold those claims to a plain standard and show the working. That's the whole idea, and there's a longer version with the numbers if you want it.

The standard we hold

Three words, and we mean them literally:

Proof over promises.

A confident claim isn't proof. Extraordinary ones — 1% a day, "guaranteed" income, a signal that never misses — need the real thing: an auditable track record, costs included, out-of-sample, risk-adjusted, all the results and not the highlight reel. Most claims never clear that bar. When one does, we'll be the first to say so.

How we work

• Evidence first. We state what would prove a claim, then show what the best available evidence actually says — including when it's messy or points against our priors.
• Independent. No sponsors, no paid placements, no affiliate links, no "partner" picks. Nothing on this site is here because someone paid for it to be.
• In public, and correctable. We show our work so you don't have to take our word for it — and if we get something wrong, we'd rather fix it out loud than defend it.
• Educational, never advisory. We check claims and explain ideas. We don't tell you what to buy, and we never will.

Why pseudonymous

Fair question for a site about trust. The honest answer: because the whole point is that you shouldn't have to trust us — you should be able to check the evidence yourself. A name, a headshot and a bio are exactly the kind of authority-by-personality that gets people to skip the numbers. We'd rather be judged on whether the work holds up.

So we show sources, not credentials; reasoning, not a personal brand. If a check is wrong, it's wrong no matter who wrote it — and if it's right, the same. Disagree with something? Good. Tell us where the evidence says otherwise.

What ProofOfReturns is not

• Not a financial adviser, broker, or portfolio manager.
• Not a source of trading signals, price targets, or "buy this now."
• Not a stock-picking service, a course, or a paid community.
